Spanning
eight stories on 267,000 square feet, the Richard B. Simches Research Center is
home to four thematic centers. The Center for Regenerative Medicine and Technology
concentrates on the use of stem cells to repair or replace damaged tissues and
organs. The Center for Computational and Integrative Biology utilizes discoveries
in biomedical and computational research to develop new drug therapies. The Center
for Human Genetics Research will investigate the genetic roots of disease. And
the Center for Systems Biology and Physiologic Genomics analyzes the ways in which
the human body's biological and physiological functions work together to affect
health and disease.
